Short Creek & Schifferdecker Avenue
Joplin, MO |
As part of the Schifferdecker Avenue widening, TSE completed storm water improvements to the Short Creek watershed. These improvments relieved flooding at the intersection of Schifferdecker and Junge. Short Creek first winds through first an industrial park, then a residential area on the west side of Joplin, Missouri. Improvements to the storm water system widened the Short Creek channel, added a cell to the culvert under Schifferdecker and added drainage structures along the entire one-mile project. Down stream the spillway on the detention pond was repaired and the banks were stabilized.
