Forensic Engineering

A Forensic Engineer is defined as someone who uses engineering practices to help with litigation. TSE's forensic engineering practice involves Steve Lett, as a professional civil engineer and land surveyor, assiting in civil litigation matters.  Steve started providing forensic engineering services in 1989.  He has provided forensic engineering services in well over 100 cases.  These cases involved boundary disputes, wrongful death, slip and fall, construction disputes, eminant domain (condemnation), etc.  The vast majority of these cases involved eminant domain matters.  Most of these cases involve explaining to the parties and their legal council the technical issues involved in the dispute.

Steve is also a mediator and arbitrator.  His practice in these areas have been almost exclusively as a mediator or arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA).  Steve is on both the construction mediation and arbitration panels for the AAA.  He has served as a mediator or arbitrator in over 30 disputes since 1998.  Mediation is a nonbinding process where two or more parties enter into mediation with the mediator acting as a catalyst to get the parties to settle their dispute.  Arbitration is a process where the parties in dispute submit their dispute to an arbitrator or arbitrator panel for resolution.  The arbitrator(s) issue a binding award that is enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction.
